Eastbourne is the sudden and unexpected reward for walkers who finish the South Downs Way in Sussex. But it’s much more than that. It’s neighbouring Downland not only provide the platform for splendid views of the town (a tourist destination which retains a seaside charm so often traded for cheerful tat), but also a micro-climate which has helped the destination earn a reputation for fine weather.

Adam has focused this work on the shoreline stretching from the often unexplored Holywell end of town. This is indeed very close to the spring from which Eastbourne gets its name.

In the distance you can see the famous (Martello) Wish Tower, and Eastbourne’s splendid Victorian Pier.
